Is Kathy Positive About Her Successful Approach?
Positively Positive.
Ask Kathy Wood about her two daughters. And you’ll see it. Ask her about her family of more than 30 all who live within 30 miles of each other. And you’ll see it. Get her talking about mentoring employees during her careers with IBM and Taco Bell. And you’ll see it. Ask what she loves about living in South Orange County. And you’ll see it.
It’s an unmistakable gleam in her eyes.
Usually, it’s accompanied by a warm smile and a little laugh, but when you talk with Kathy about her passions in life, that spark in her eyes is immediately recognizable.
A California Girl
Kathy grew up in Southern California and earned a degree in mathematics from U.C. Irvine in the late 1970s when very few women studied the subject. She was a successful student and upon graduation was recruited to work as a systems engineer for IBM, helping companies migrate new mainframe and personal computer work environments. Anyone familiar with IBM of that era knows they only recruited and retained the very best. Kathy spent 15 years with IBM before being offered a position she couldn’t pass up with Taco Bell, where she worked 17 years as an executive providing technology solutions to more than 6,000 company and franchise restaurants nationwide.
Seeing Challenges as Opportunities
She was passionate about her work and had a knack for viewing challenges as opportunities to develop creative solutions and positive results. In fact, a positive approach was the hallmark of her corporate careers and continues to be a hallmark of her successful work today as a real estate professional.Kathy has always looked at life on the sunny side.

Kathy loves spending time with her daughters, Charlotte and Carolyn.
This perspective was put to the test a number of years ago when she suddenly lost her husband, Leonard, to a heart attack. But in true Kathy Wood fashion, she “vowed to focus on the life we had built together and the friendships we had formed.” Kathy is so proud of her two “amazing” daughters, who are now adults starting their own careers. She looks back fondly to the time they were growing up and remembers how their home was the place where all the neighborhood kids hung out. “There was always a lot of laughter and fun,” she says. “Mostly, we tried to teach our girls to be good people.”
It All Adds Up
With her background in math, her leadership in major corporations, her experience raising a family and her love for homes and design, it’s no wonder her career path led to real estate. She is successful in real estate because of the same qualities that made her a success in the corporate world. Her keen, analytical mind helps her develop winning strategies for her clients, whether buying or selling. To your advantage, she does her homework and knows the South Orange County market. She listens. She understands. And, mostly, she has a sincere dedication to the people who put their trust in her.
“My goal is to make sure my clients have an absolutely positive real estate experience.”
Unbeatable Formula
Kathy’s real estate motto is “Positively Positive,” and her focus is on delivering successful results. Real estate can be challenging, but when you work with someone who maximizes opportunities, takes positive actions and provides a memorable service experience, you have an unbeatable formula. Positively Positive? Positively Kathy. Indeed.
